Richard Huntington, a Master Gemologist Appraiser® and Independent Certified Gemologist Appraiser in Las Vegas, has been involved with fine jewelry, diamonds and gemstones for over four decades.
Richard’s titles represent the highest level of certification attainable in two top accredited appraisal organizations, the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) and the American Gem Society (AGS). Richard has worked to earn and maintain the highest credentials and is a member of five professional appraisal and gemological organizations.
Richard’s high credentials, experience and expertise are unmatched here in the valley. In fact, only a small handful of professional appraisers in the entire country come close. He’s recognized as an authoritative expert by high-profile clientele in government as well as the private sector.

We do jewelry appraisals by appointment inside the secure environment of our office laboratory. We can travel to do onsite jewelry appraisal within the Las Vegas valley and beyond in locations such as bank vaults, your home or office, etc. We also do work for courts including expert witness and deposition services.

What to Expect
Appraisals While You Wait
We believe the best way to get jewelry appraised is never having it leave your sight if possible. When you put HGL Certified Jewelry Appraisers to work, the cleaning, examination, necessary tests and evaluations are performed in front of you while you watch.
For one or two common pieces, the entire appraisal process takes about an hour or less to complete from the time you arrive. At the end of your appointment, you walk away with your jewelry and a beautiful, professional printed report.
How Much Does a Jewelry Appraisal Cost?
Independent appraisers conduct jewelry appraisals for a variety of purposes and markets. Therefore, the answer to the question of cost becomes complex and depends entirely on your particular appraisal need.
For example, most commonly, appraisals are performed for insurance purposes. An insurance appraisal in our office lab starts at $125 for the first piece plus $95 for each additional item, provided there is nothing extraordinary about the items. Some custom pave diamond jewelry and watches start at $250 per item.
